Master of Computer Application

GGS offers three-year, full-time MCA degree that is approved by AICTE, New Delhi as well as Govt, of Punjab and affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. The course covers various aspects of computational theory, programming, algorithm design and optimization, network and database management, mobile technologies, mathematics, probability, statistics, accounting, finance, etc.

The prospects of computer professionals are extremely vast and not limited to some particular sector. They perform duties including data management, system development, management information systems, application design and development, software design, hardware engineering and networking. Job opportunities also exist in the private sector like banking, finance, retail, education, entertainment, etc. The growing number of institutes also offer a large number of opportunities for computer professionals to work as lecturers.

The aim of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is to provide students with a deep and systematic understanding of the techniques of research and enquiry, which in turn, are used to extend, create, interpret and apply knowledge in Computer Application.
It enables the students to develop a range of skills and techniques i.e. modern communication skills, personal qualities and attitudes that are essential for successful performance in working life.

A Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years, from a recognized University with Mathematics / Statistics / Business Mathematics / Business Statistics / Quantitative Techniques as Compulsory / Optional or Additional Paper as one of the subjects either rat 10+2 or at graduation level.  OR
A  BCA course of minimum three years duration, from a recognized University. Candidates shall be admitted to 3 year MCA course on the basis of inter-se-merit in the qualifying examination


A BCA, B.Sc. (IT/CSE) with Math at 10+2 level or graduation, with 50% marks

(45% for reserve category)

Seats Allocation: 67% state quota through MET conducted by PTU /GNDU/ Pbi. University as authorized by Govt. of Punjab, 33% Management Quota (General and NRI) on merit basis.

 Fee Structure : The Annual Tuition Fee and other charges (except building development, internet and nominal administrative charges) for undergraduate (B.Tech) and for post graduate programmes (MBA/MCA) as per PTU norms and as amended wide Punjab Govt. Notification No. 13/127/09-1TE-2/2050 dated 13th May,2010.
